1. Qingdao triumphs in the Clipper race

Qingdao led a parade of sails at London’s Royal Docks on July 30 after finishing as the winner of the 2019-20 Clipper Round The World Yacht Race season.
The trip started in the summer of 2019 from London, but was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic until March. After sailing more than 40,000 nautical miles around the world, Qingdao, representing China’s sailing city, won the overall championship title with a total of 145 points.
2. Chinese footballer Shen Menglu joins Celtic women’s team
Celtic FC have posted a poster to welcome Shen Menglu on the club’s official Weibo account.
China’s Shen Menglu has signed a two-year contract with Celtic FC women’s team, the Scottish club announced on 30 July.
Shen, 20, joins Celtic from Atletico Ouriense in Portugal. The left-sided player previously played for Sporting Lisbon.
3. Wu Lei Returns to Shanghai Port

China international striker Wu Lei has confirmed he will soon return to the port of Shanghai from La Liga side Espanyol.
He will have come full circle with the return to the port of Shanghai, the club he left in January 2019 to join Espanyol.
4. The 2022-23 CBA season will start on October 10

The 2022-23 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season will begin on October 10.
According to an announcement released Monday by the league’s governing body, 20 teams will participate in the new season, which includes a total of 42 innings during the regular season.
The 20 teams will be divided into four groups of five teams each. Each team will play teams in the group three times and teams outside the group twice. The top 12 from the regular season will advance to the playoffs, which include the round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, and final.
5. All-Star goalkeeper Guo Ailun wants to leave Liaoning

All-Star point guard Guo Ailun asked to leave the Liaoning Flying Leopards on Tuesday after serving the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) champions for 12 years.
Guo, 29, informed the club of his intentions through his team of agents via email on Tuesday, citing better self-development and better service for the Chinese national team as reasons for leaving .
The Liaoning Flying Leopards said Friday that the club will stick to its priority contract extension rights with Guo Ailun in the CBA unless he goes to play in the NBA or Euroleague.
6. Chinese golf pro Feng Shanshan announces his retirement

Chinese professional golfer Feng Shanshan announced her retirement on Tuesday via a social media platform.
Ahead of her announcement, the 32-year-old professional golfer was named head coach of China’s women’s national team.
In November 2017, she became the women’s world No. 1 and remained at the top for 23 weeks.
7. Chinese Premier Youth Football League kicks off

The opening match of the Chinese Youth Football League (CYFL) kicked off Monday in Changchun, northeast China’s Jilin Province.
The first CYFL, with U13 and U15 tournaments, is organized and hosted by the Chinese Football Association (CFA) under the leadership of the Chinese Ministry of Education and the State General Administration of Sports, in the aim to create a youth football league with the widest coverage. , the largest number of participants, the highest level of competition and the greatest social influence.
8. China First Professional 3×3 Basketball League kicks off

China’s first professional 3×3 basketball league kicked off Thursday in Zhangjiagang City, east China’s Jiangsu Province.
The league is made up of the Men’s 3×3 Basketball Super League (Super 3), the Women’s 3×3 Basketball League (3WL), and the 3×3 Men’s Basketball Satellite Super League (Super 3 Satellite). Super 3 Satellite is the second tier league under Super 3. ■
