Jamie Redknapp joins his ex-wife Louise Redknapp to mourn their dog Blu
Jamie Redknapp paid tribute to his dog after his death this week.
The former footballer posted a photo of Blu, which he shared with his ex-wife Louise Redknapp and their sons Charles, 17, and Beau, 13.
He wrote on Instagram: “Goodbye beautiful girl, we will miss you so much.”
Redknapp is vacationing in the Maldives with his wife Frida Andersson and their little son Raphael.
Louise said she was “absolutely heartbroken” following Blu’s death on Monday night.
She shared a selection of photos of herself with the dog on Instagram, writing, “I’m absolutely sorry we had to say goodbye to our baby girl Blu early this morning.”
“I’m going to miss you so much my darling daughter…your escape through the fence, chasing squirrels out of the garden, our long walks in the woods watching you run around carefree, going upstairs when we say ‘dutch time’. sleep” and put up mom’s bed instead of yours and, above all, your kisses and hugs every day.
The former Strictly Come Dancing star had frequently shared photos of Blu and her other dog Rudi on Instagram, and runs an account documenting their adventures.
Both dogs are Shar Peis, a breed that originated in southern China and is known for its deep wrinkles.
She said she wanted to share the news because many of her fans followed the dogs’ Instagram page and “loved seeing what Blu and Rudi were doing and loved them as much as we did.”
Louise wrote: “We will miss you so much, sleep well our beautiful Bluebells.”
The former couple also shared a rescue dog, Corky, who they adopted from Cyprus in 2016 and died in October 2020.
The Redknapps divorced in 2017 after 19 years of marriage, with Jamie marrying Andersson in October last year and welcoming their first child together weeks later.
