Meet the new cast members
The popular TLC docu-reality series, 90 Day Fiance, is back with six new couples and one returning couple. It’s time to meet the cast of Season 9 (via EO).
Kobe and Emily
Emily, 29, met Kobe, 34, when she decided to teach English in Xi’an, China. Emily and Kobe met one night at the club. Their whirlwind romance went from a one-night stand to an engagement. Shortly after, Emily discovers that she is pregnant.
After Emily returned to Salina, Kansas, they eagerly awaited Kobe’s visa approval. However, due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Kobe and Emily have been separated for over two years. Kobe ended up not being able to be with Emily when their son was born. In fact, Kobe has never met his son.
Kobe is finally ready to reunite with Emily, meet her son, and finally become a family. Will the connection still be there for the couple, despite all the changes?
Biniyam and oneriela
90 Day Fiance: The Other Way Seasons 2 and 3 featured 31-year-old Biniyam Shibre and the journey of 30-year-old Ariela Weinberg. Now that Ariela, Biniyam and their son, Avi, are finally ready to leave Ethiopia and the United States to start a family.
As fans remember, when we last saw Biniyam and Ariela, they nearly broke up due to misunderstandings while separated due to Avi needing emergency surgery. Some of these issues came from Biniyam’s sister, Wish, who only seemed to cause drama in the relationship.
Can Biniyam adjust to life in Princeton, New Jersey, away from his family and friends in Ethiopia? Fans will have to tune in to see if he and Ariela can make it work.
Kara and Guillermo
Kara, 29, caught the eye of Guillermo, 23, while on a work trip to the Dominican Republic. After the trip, the two stayed in touch but didn’t think they could have a long-distance relationship. However, after Kara’s job moved her to the Dominican Republic, everything changed.
Kara ended up moving in with Guillermo in the Dominican Republic, and they got engaged. However, due to the pandemic, Kara returned to her home in Charlottesville, Virginia. After nine months apart, Guillermo’s K-1 visa has finally been approved and they are ready to start their lives together in the United States again.
Shaida and Bilal
After meeting online, Shaeeda, 37, finally met her online love, Bilal, 42, for the first time. And after just a week of being together in person, the couple got engaged. Their worlds are completely different. As Shaeeda still lives in Trinidad and Tobago with his parents, Bilal is a divorced father of two from Kansas City, Mo.
Despite the cultural difference, they also disagree on the children. Bilal isn’t sure if he wants to have more children, while Shaeeda is ready to start her own family. But that’s not the only problem between them this season. There will be a conflict between the two when Bilal wants Shaeeda to sign a prenup before getting married.
miona and Jibri
The meeting of Jibri, 28, and Miona, 23, was that of a movie. Jibri noticed Miona in the audience when he played a gig with his band in northern Serbia. While on vacation, Jibri proposed, and Miona said yes.
The young couple prepares their life together. Miona is contemplating her future in LA, but Jibiri has returned home with her family to Rapid City, South Dakota. Will culture shock and small town life be too much for Miona?
mohammed and Yvette
Mohamed, 25, slipped into the DMs of Yvette, 48, and the rest is history. After a mutual interest in fitness, the two started flirting online. After a trip to Egypt to meet Mohamed, the two prepare to merge their lives in the United States.
In addition to the 23-year age gap, there are also cultural differences that prevent them from agreeing. Yvette has a 12 year old son with special needs who needs her attention. Will real-world hardships intrude on their fairytale romance?
Patrick and Thais
Patrick, 31, traveled from his home in Austin, Texas to reconnect with his extended family in Brazil. During this trip, he looked for a tutor to learn Portuguese on a dating app. That’s when Thaís, 25, hit Patrick.
During many travels, Patrick conquered Thaís and the two became engaged. While Thaís has a good life in Brazil, she is ready to give up everything to be with Patrick in Texas. Will the couple be able to settle their differences and say “yes” to each other?
