ISLAMABAD, April 24 (Gwadar Pro) — While TikTok remains one of the country’s most famous social media platforms, political parties in Pakistan are using the Chinese video-sharing platform to reach out to their activists and communicate with their constituents.
Apart from other social media platforms, the ruling Pakistani Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) is also using TikTok to connect people at home and abroad. In this regard, a delegation from PML-N TikTokers held a meeting with party leader Maryam Nawaz Sharif at Jati Umra on Friday. PML-N’s social media team runs multiple accounts on TikTok with thousands of followers.
Initially, when the Chinese app reached Pakistan, several TikTokers became celebrities on the platform. Slowly and gradually, Pakistani showbiz celebrities, cricketers, news anchors, religious scholars and fashion designers started using TikTok. Today, TikTok has 31.2 million users.
